Summer Showcase

Cygnus and Lyra

Summer's two most prominent constellations, Cygnus the Swan and Lyra. The brightest star in the upper right corner of the image is Vega. To the left is Deneb, the tail of the Swan. 3 degrees to its left is NGC 7000, the North America Nebula, as well as the Pelican Nebula. Further southwest is Sadr, Gamma Cygni, also surrounded by nebulosity.
