Lunar Eclipse

Partial Phase

On January 9th, 2001, the Moon entered the Earth's shadow, letting observers on Earth enjoy the beauty of a lunar eclipse. From Germany, this eclipse could not be observed very well due to clouds, but luckily, I was on vacation on a tropical island and had taken my equipment with me in order to photograph the show.

Because of my location in the Pacific Ocean, most of the eclipse did not happen on the evening of January 9th, but on the morning of January 10th.
