Orion

The Hunter

One of the most prominent constellations in the sky, Orion is recognized by many non-astronomers when it sparkles high in the crisp winter nights of the northern hemisphere. Below Orion's belt is the famous Orion Nebula (M42). The emission nebula containing B33, the Horsehead, hangs from the left belt star, while Barnard's Loop, a huge supernova remnant, glows to his upper left in this image.
