Bright stars spin around Polaris, the North Star, in this 2-hour exposure of four astronomers at a new site in the Vogelsberg region. I had discovered this site the night before, when I traveled to this region alone for the first time and did not really know where to go because it was quite windy and I wanted to do prime focus deep sky photography. Wanting to stay at a high altitude in hopes of getting good transparency, I drove into a private forest near the Hoherodskopf (highest point in the Vogelsberg region). After searching for about 15 minutes, I found a nice spot with a good southward view, but with not much northern sky left. Nevertheless, there was almost no wind here, so the site is better than most others in this region.
